On December 1, 2022, the Golden Gate Area Council will host the 16th Annual Distinguished Citizen Dinner at the Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, Calif. The event will feature keynote speaker Distinguished Eagle Scout Rear Admiral Thomas Cropper, and master of ceremonies Distinguished Eagle Scout Rick Pickering. The honoree for the dinner will be Fremont Bank with Mike Burton, Young and Burton, Inc. serving as the event chair.
Distinguished Eagle Scout Rick Pickering is currently the CEO of the California Exposition and State Fair and lives near Sacramento. He earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 89 of Pittsburg and is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. In 2010 the Boy Scouts of America recognized him with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. Rick served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 941 of Pleasanton, where all three of his sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
