2024 Eagle Scout, Quartermaster & Venture Summit Award Scholarships!
Scholarship Window Closes In…
At the GGAC Eagle Recognition Event on April 7, 2024, the local tax-exempt organization Eagle Scout Scholarships plans to grant $18,000 in scholarships to eligible Eagle Scouts, Quartermasters, and Venture Summit Award recipients, who apply for and are selected by ESS. The number of individual scholarships and their amounts will be determined by ESS. The scholarships include the Robert L. Witbeck Engineering/Music scholarship, the Million Dollar Round Table scholarship, the Upson family scholarship for study of medicine, the Richmond family scholarship, and the Scuitto family scholarship. The deadline to apply for the scholarships to be recognized at the event is March 15th. The 2024 application is available online or from ESS’ treasurer, John McClintic, at [email protected].
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
Be a Scout from Golden Gate Area Council.
Have earned the Eagle Scout, Quartermaster, or Venture Summit award.
Be a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate college/vocational student no later than completion of the third (junior) year.
Provide an official transcript of grades for the last two (2) years.
Have demonstrated leadership ability in Scouting and a strong record of participation in activities outside of Scouting.
Provide a recommendation letter from a volunteer or professional Scout leader who knows you personally. In addition, you may provide letter(s) from teachers, coaches, religious leaders, counselors, etc. who know you personally.
You are encouraged to provide information about why you need financial aid. The statement must be signed by the applicant and countersigned by the parent/guardian.
Applications become the property of the ESS and will not be returned to the applicant. Scholarship grant recipients will be notified by letter.
Scholarship grant recipients may be asked to submit a photo of themselves and be acknowledged in our website and in ESS press releases.
Submitting an application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be granted. The decision of the ESS selection committee is final.
