“Through this award, Melinda and I wanted to shine a spotlight on the incredible work Eagle Scout candidates are doing in service to others.”
Glenn Adams, Vice-President of the National Eagle Scout Association

Bronze Eagle Scout Project of the Year device for Council Winners

The National Eagle Scout Association established the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year award (ESSPY) to recognize valuable service of an exceptional nature by an Eagle Scout candidate to a religious institution, a school, community, or other entity through completion of an Eagle Scout project.

The selection of recipients begins at the local level and is conducted through the Golden Gate Area NESA. The council’s committee will select a recipient from the submitted nominations. After selecting, GGAC NESA will pass their winner on to Council Service Territory 3 for territory consideration.

Council Service Territory ESSPY recipients are selected by each territory’s CST NESA scholarship committee. The CST recipients receive a $300 award, which can be used for future educational purposes or to attend a national or international Scouting event or activity.

A special National Eagle Scout Association committee then selects the national award recipient from among territory recipients. The National recipient receives a $3,500 award, which can be used for future educational purposes or to attend a national or international Scouting event or activity.
