In 2021 the Golden Gate Area Council saw 564 newly minted Eagles Scouts join the 2021 Eagle Scout Class. In addition to the new Eagles Scouts, the GGAC also saw Kent Clayburn honored as a Distinguished Eagle Scout. In the coming month, the GGAC NESA Committee will be announcing their 2021 NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout recipients along with the Eagle Project of the Year.
2021 showed a slight dip in new Eagles from the 575 Eagle Scouts in 2020. However, the council saw an increase in females Eagles up to twenty-seven from the inaugural class of twenty-three in 2020. The Brionies District led the way with 115 new Eagles, accounting for 20% of the 2021 total.
